LIGHT PERFORMANCE
Although this is now the 'baby' of the range, its 19 metre beam is more than adequate for night time dog walking, sign reading or middle distance vision. When the Tikkas and Zipkas first came out, their range was 17 metres, and we were all very happy with that. The e+LITE outperforms those early LEDs.
The switch is very detailed, and a particularly smart feature.
In this picture, the switch is in the medium white light setting with all three LEDs on. When clicked clockwise from here, the switch is OFF, and with another click clockwise, so that the switch is flush with the body, it is LOCKED.
Clicked through anti-clockwise from the locked position, the switch settings are:
- Locked
- OFF
- Medium white
- Bright white
- Flashing white
- Flashing red
- Bright red
- OFF
Why the two OFF positions?
Some people may not want to switch on the white light to get to the red. Other Petzl LEDs have a flip-up or slide across red filter, so you can switch on red immediately. This is a feature that needed to be preserved with the e+LITE.
Night walkers reading maps will appreciate this. Fishermen too.
